Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurobiological condition affecting between 5–7% of children and 2.5% of adults. It is neither a matter of willpower nor parenting: the ADHD brain processes dopamine differently, which makes it difficult to sustain attention, inhibit impulses and plan ahead. A precise diagnosis changes lives — it opens the door to educational support and appropriate treatment.
ASD — Autism Spectrum Disorder
“She's very much in her own world”, “he struggles socially”, “she gets very upset with changes”… and nobody offers a clear answer.
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects social communication and generates repetitive behaviour patterns. Every autistic person is different: there are profiles with high intellectual capacities and others requiring intensive support. Early diagnosis is key — it enables appropriate support and prevents years of unnecessary misunderstanding.
Gifted Profiles
“He's so bright but does poorly at school”, “she gets bored”, “he doesn't fit in”… and nobody realises the problem isn't the child.
High intellectual abilities (IQ > 130 or specific talent) often come hand in hand with dyssynchrony: intellectual development moves much faster than emotional or social development. Without identification, these children suffer frustration, demotivation and isolation. Diagnosis makes it possible to adapt the curriculum and offer the stimulation they truly need.
Dyslexia
“He hardly reads”, “she mixes up letters”, “writing is a struggle for him”… and despite repeating a year, nothing improves.
Dyslexia is the most common learning disorder: it affects between 5% and 15% of the population, regardless of intelligence. It has a well-documented neurobiological basis: the dyslexic brain processes the sound of words differently (altered phonological processing). With the right diagnosis and tools, most children learn to read well and to enjoy books.
Cognitive Decline
“He forgets things”, “she gets lost in places she's always known”, “he seems different”… and the family isn't sure if it's age or something more.
Mild cognitive impairment (MCI) sits between normal ageing and dementia. Detecting it in time is essential: it allows neurorehabilitation strategies to be implemented, the future to be planned, and in some cases progression to be halted. Neuropsychological assessment is the gold standard tool for distinguishing between anxiety, depression and real cognitive decline.
Executive Functions
“He knows what to do but doesn't do it”, “she starts and never finishes”, “every morning is a battle”… and he doesn't understand himself either.
Executive functions (planning, inhibition, working memory, cognitive flexibility) are the brain skills that allow us to organise ourselves and regulate our actions. A deficit in executive functions can appear in ADHD, ASD, or independently. Precise assessment makes it possible to design concrete intervention strategies for school and family.
When talent and difficulty
live in the same person
There is a clinical profile that often goes unnoticed: people with high intellectual capacity (HIC) who also live with ADHD or ASD. Their detection demands an expert eye — and has profound consequences on personal, academic and emotional development.
The masking paradox
When ability and difficulty coexist, they often hide one another. These are the three scenarios we see most frequently in clinic.
Ability conceals the difficulty
The child achieves good marks thanks to their potential, but with an exhausting effort no one notices. ADHD or dyslexia remain invisible until the compensatory system collapses — usually in secondary school or university.
The difficulty conceals the ability
ADHD or ASD are so visible that the school system only sees the “problem”. The intellectual stimulation their brain demands never arrives, generating demotivation, low self-esteem and academic failure.
Reciprocal cancellation
Ability and difficulty neutralise each other and performance lands in the average. Both the talent and the need for support go unnoticed. The child looks “normal” — but inside, finds no place to belong.

Specialist in clinical neuropsychology with more than ten years of experience working with ASD, ADHD, learning difficulties, gifted profiles and cognitive decline. Her career has crossed borders: she lived and worked in France — in Paris and in Haute-Savoie — in highly complex clinical settings, which has given her a unique cultural and linguistic sensitivity.
She assesses, diagnoses and intervenes with both child-adolescent and adult populations, with special dedication to cases where no one has been able to give a clear answer to what is happening. Health-registered in Spain and France.
