Sara Saldaña | Psychologist in Girona

Hello! I’m Sara, a General Health Psychologist (Col. No. 32.191), specialized in emotional well-being and psychological support for adults. Throughout my career, I have developed my practice across various areas of mental health, which has allowed me to gain a broad and integrative perspective on people’s emotional needs.

I work from an empathetic, approachable, and respectful standpoint, with the goal of providing a safe space where you can feel truly heard and understood.

My aim is to create a trusting environment where you can freely and authentically explore your thoughts and emotions. Every person has their own pace, their own story, and their own needs, which is why I tailor the therapeutic process individually to each one.

I will accompany you throughout your journey, offering practical and useful tools so you can better understand yourself, manage what concerns you, and reconnect with who you truly are.

Whether you’re going through a difficult time or simply want to deepen your self-knowledge, we will work together to build a life that feels more aligned with who you are and what you truly desire.

Main Areas of Intervention

  • Emotional support and life transitions: Support during periods of psychological distress, stress, personal, emotional, or professional blocks, as well as in major life changes or adaptation processes.
  • Emotional management and anxiety: Work focused on identifying, understanding, and regulating emotions, addressing issues such as anxiety, stress, excessive worry, rumination, and difficulty facing problems.
  • Self-esteem, insecurity, and personal beliefs: Intervention for low self-esteem, insecurity, impostor syndrome, negative self-concept, and feelings of guilt, with the aim of strengthening confidence and personal worth.
  • Self-knowledge and personal development: A process of self-exploration to enhance emotional intelligence, understand behavioral patterns, and facilitate decisions more aligned with your core values.
  • Grief and loss processes: Support through grief and the emotional processing of significant losses.
  • Mood and emotional disorders: Intervention for depressive symptoms, low mood, frustration, and difficulties managing persistent or intense emotions.
  • Personal organization and functioning: Work on challenges with organization, decision-making, time management, and skills to handle daily situations with greater confidence.
  • Social skills and relationships with others: Improvement of communication, socialization, and emotional expression skills to foster more satisfying relationships.
  • Relational and couple difficulties: Support for communication issues, difficulty setting boundaries, jealousy, relationship anxiety, and managing differences within a partnership, promoting healthier bonds.

Therapeutic Approach

  • Integrative approach: I combine different psychological perspectives to adapt the process to each individual, offering flexible and personalized intervention.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy: Work aimed at understanding and modifying thoughts and behaviors that cause distress.
  • Humanistic perspective: The person is at the center of the process, empowering self-awareness, personal growth, and inner resources.
  • Bond-based work: A close, non-judgmental, and trusting therapeutic relationship as the foundation for change and well-being.
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): Focus on accepting thoughts and emotions, clarifying values, and taking committed action toward what matters to you.
  • Psychoanalytic approach: Exploration of unconscious processes, early experiences, and relational patterns that influence current distress.
